Student GPA tracker spreadsheet
Your syllabus already tells you how your grade is calculated. A GPA tracker spreadsheet just does that math every time a grade comes back, so you always know where you stand and what you need on the final.

How to set it up
- Set the term and scale. On Settings, enter the term dates and check the grading scale against your school's.
- Add courses. On Courses, add each course with credits, target grade and the final exam weight.
- Copy the syllabus weights. On Grade Weights, enter each category and its weight. The Courses tab shows OK when they add up to 100%.
- Enter every deadline. Put all assignments from every syllabus on the Assignments tab at the start of term.
- Enter grades as they come back. Add score and max points and set the status to Graded. Course %, letter, GPA and 'needed on final' update.
How weighted grades work
Each category (homework, quizzes, midterm, final) has a weight. Your course grade is the weighted average of the categories that have grades so far:
Course % = Σ(weight × category %) / Σ(weights of graded categories) GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) / Σ(credits)
On a common 4.0 scale, A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on, but schools differ. Always use your school's scale (the template lets you edit it).

FAQ
Is the GPA official?
No. It's an unofficial planner. Schools handle plus/minus, repeats, pass/fail and honors weighting differently, so your school's record is the official GPA.
Does it work for high school weighted GPA?
The template uses your scale's grade points. For an honors/AP boost, use the weighted option in our free GPA calculator.
