How it's calculated

Semester GPA   = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits)
Weighted GPA   = same, with +0.5 for honors and +1.0 for AP/IB on each passing grade
Cumulative GPA = (old GPA × old credits + this term's quality points) ÷ (old credits + this term's credits)

Grade points use a common 4.0 scale: A+ and A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7, F = 0. Schools differ: some count A+ as 4.3, some don't use minus grades, and weighting rules vary. Check your school's handbook. This is an estimate, not your official GPA.

Example: 3 credits of A (12 quality points) + 4 credits of B+ (13.2) + 3 credits of C (6) = 31.2 ÷ 10 credits = 3.12.
